GoLite Momentum Review

GoLite Momentum ReviewBuilding on their popular Kinetic jacket, the GoLite Momentum eliminates the zip off sleeves found on the Kinetic, and has a looser fit. The jacket is designed to protect you from wind and rain, to wick moisture away from your body. The stretch of the fabric is designed to move with your body making this an ideal jacket for motion sports like hiking, climbing, biking, snowshoeing, etc.

The GoLite Momentum Jacket has a full watertight front zip with internal draft flap, two large watertight welded chest pockets, elasticized hem drawcords, elasticized Velcro cuffs, stand up collar and is Semi-Fitted. Our review staff thinks you should consider trying one size larger than your normal size.

Constructed with the lightest weight of Polartec® Power Shield™ available, the GoLite Momentum provides good breathability and at 13 ounces(368 grams) is lightweight enough to meet our ultra-lightweight garment distinction.

Polartec® Power Shield™ single-layer technology is an ideal material for cooler weather pursuits. It is positioned as more weather resistant than Schoeller Dryskin / Dynamic apparel. It has a 98% windproof PU membrane, which blocks almost all the wind while intentionally allowing for some ventilation. Weather protection is enhanced with a thermally applied DWR finish and tightly woven nylon face fabric provide. A polyester inner wicks moisture away.

This jacket is ideal for serious weather protection without the clamminess of waterproof-breathable shells.

Final Thoughts: Lightweight, wind resistant, breathable - the GoLite Momenutm Jacket is the most weather resistant soft shell jacket our review staff has tested. It offers outstanding soft shell performance and great weather protection.
