GoLite Infinity Review
 The GoLite Infinity Pack uses their innovative Unlimited Suspension System™. At the heart of the system is a frame sheet. The frame sheet is made of corrugated polystyrene and 5 ultrathin aluminum dowels for support and structure. This provides excellent load transfer, but adds only six ounces to the pack. The GoLite Infinity Pack has excellent load transfer and comfort for a minimum weight pack. The suspension and harness of the GoLite Infinity allow the user to comfortably carry at least 40 pounds (18 kg).
The GoLite Infinity is an ultralite pack, but has numerous user-friendly features, like a 3-liter hydration sleeve, watertight zips, dual ice-axe loops and other details that make this an ideal pack for lightweight mountaineering and four season backpacking.
The pack is durable for a lightweight backpack. The main body is made from SilLite HG™. SilLite HG is a 3-component construction: high-tenacity 40-denier polyester matrix, silicone elastomere impregnated upper coating, and polyurethane-impregnated upper coating, resulting in a pack fabric that is ultralite and ultra-strong. SilLite has 12-lbs tear strength and weighs just 3 oz/sq. yd. SilLite HG is 100 psi/7000 mm waterproof.
The GoLite Infinity uses X-Pac™composite three layer fabric in front pockets and bottom for improved durability. The tear strength of X-Pac is (20-lbs). The X-Pac 3-layer composite fabric contains a 50 x 50 denier inner layer, a 1000 denier high tenacity polyester matrix middle layer, and a 40 denier double-ripstop nylon polyester outer layer. The outer layer is DWR-treated for improved water resistance.
The GoLite Infinity feels solid, stable and very comfortable on your back. The shoulder straps are excellent, and although the hip-belt is lightweight, we found it very confortable even on long hikes with 40 punds loaded in the pack.
Final Thoughts: We like this pack. It is a bit expensive compared to other packs in this class, but the GoLite Infinity stands out in terms of features, technology, and above all - performance.
